We have just received these lovely images from Phoenix Fund from International Tiger Day on the 30th of September 2012.

The Tiger Day Festival is an annual autumn event organised by the Phoenix Fund in cooperation with its partners. The goal is to involve as many children as possible to help save the Amur tiger in the wild for future generations and draw international attention to this endangered species.

Traditionally, Tiger Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of September. The Vladivostok festival pictured below, began with an opening ceremony at the central Square and a festive parade.  Over 3,000 marchers joined in, including bands, school groups, social and cultural clubs, and thousands of  spectators lined the streets. The parade was followed by performances from children’s dancing groups, various contests and entertainments which carried on into the evening.
