The recent tiger death in Kerala, has raised concerned from conservationists. The tiger, which had been taking cattle from villagers in the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, was shot dead by officials when an attempt at tranquilising the tiger failed. The failure has been blamed in part on the actions of an out of control local mob whose actions aggravated the situation.
Criticisms have been leveled at both management of the failed tranquilisation and crowd control.
