Sustainable Easter eggs – it’s your choice!

The wrong sort of chocolate consumed over Easter will contribute to the decimation of forests throughout the tropics as chocolate producers include non-sustainable palm oil in their recipes.

Lindt, Thorntons and Guylian come out worst in a survey of chocolate producers conducted for The Rainforest Foundation UK by Ethical Consumer Research Association.

Ethical Consumer recommends buying fairtrade eggs where possible, ensuring that the farmers receive more money for their cocoa and eggs packaged using recycled materials and those avoiding plastic altogether.
