New tiger conservation paper – India

We’ve uploaded a new tiger conservation paper, sent to us by the World Bank that was published this week.

Written by Dr Gerald Hope (Duke University) & Bivash Pandav (Wildlife Institute India), this paper looks at the effectiveness of conservation across a number of reserves across India and whether factors such as human population density or agricultural use of land affect tiger populations.

“It is not the human density around the tiger reserves that truly affect tiger conservation; rather it is the type of human behaviour that significantly impacts tigers.”
