Father’s Day 2015

Tiger dads get a bad press.  In the wild, a male tiger’s territory will overlap that of several females, giving him the best possible chance of siring cubs.

Tigers communicate their readiness to mate by leaving scent markings around their territory.  Once the tigers have mated the male will go off, leaving the mother to deal with gestation, and cub raising alone.

However, once in a while, male tigers are most certainly ‘paws on’ dads.

Thanks to all our lovely supporters for sending in these gorgeous pictures of tiger dads.  We wish all the super dads out there a very happy Father’s Day 2015.
