Ecotourism in Kerinci with Wild Sumatra
21st Century Tiger has worked in Kerinci, funding wild tiger conservation projects through Fauna & Flora International for some years now. We were recently contacted by Luke from Wild Sumatra and are very pleased to support the official launch of his new ecotourism business and website.
The goal of Wild Sumatra is to show the world the beauty of Kerinci. They believe that ecotourism can help safeguard the forests of the Kerinci Seblat National Park, the flora and fauna that call it home, and the livelihoods of those who rely on the clean water and other resources that it provides.
Working closely with the local communities, and living and working in the region themselves they also help to assist local guides in marketing their services and connecting with responsible travelers. They also work closely with locals in Jambi province involved in teaching English in the hospitality industry, providing English training and marketing assistance as they seek to improve their craft.
Their website holds a plethora of wonderful information not only about tigers but of the rich culture and beauty of this region. As part of their commitment to conservation in Kerinci, they have generously made a donation to our projects and have also agreed to donate 5% from the total cost of their trips to our ongoing work – giving wild tigers a future.
We are proud to support and be supported by Wild Sumatra and wish them all the best as their business grows. Please check out their website or Facebook for more information on their tours and the beautiful Kerinci Seblat National Park.
