Concerts for Conservation - 28th of January 2010

On Friday 29th January 2010 Auckland Zoo start their series of ZooMusic Concerts for Conservation with a sell-out concert by The Black Seeds.

On Saturday 13th February, to celebrate the start of the Chinese Year of the Tiger, Anika Moa and Sola Rosa's concert will support 21st Century Tiger and raise funds for wild tiger conservation. Anika Moa, recently voted New Zealand's best female vocalist will team up with Sola Rosa who are encouraging Aucklanders to come along and enjoy the music while helping the animals. Auckland Zoo's conservation officer Peter Frazer said in aninterview ith Voxy.co.uk

"The Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund supports 21st Century Tiger's Kerinci Seblat National Park project in Sumatra. The funds raised go toward tiger protection and conservation units in the park, who help stop poachers and traffickers.

"While helping tigers, the project also protects other species that live in the same environment - rhino, elephant, orangutan, clouded leopard and others. This way our conservation dollars go further," says Mr Fraser.
