Blackpool Zoo fundraising for Year of the Tiger - 2nd of February 2010
Blackpool Zoo are celebrating "Chinese Year of the Tiger" daily during half term from Sunday, 14th February until Saturday, 20th from 11- 3 and raising money for 21st Century Tiger.
There will be the usual talks and feeds, including an introduction to their new Amur tiger, Zambar, a tiger trail, a "Name that Tiger" competition and a 21st Century Tiger collage workshop. More about the zoo marking 'Year of the Tiger.'
For Zoo members only, there will be a "Tiger Presentation" on the afternoon of Sunday, 14th February from 2 - 2.45 in the Lecture Theatre in the main entrance. This will be led by Lou Bell, the Zoo's Research and Conservation Officer on the subjects of moving an Amur tiger (can be tricky!), how do you monitor if he's stressed and the work of 21st Century Tiger. There are light refreshments and there is no charge.
