"The 13 nations, known as tiger range countries, in their draft pledge, stated that they have recognised that Asia’s most iconic animal faces imminent extinction in the wild. The tiger’s count has declined by a whopping 97 per cent from over 100,000 in the 20th century; and it continues to face threats due to increasing demand for their skin and body parts in the global market."
